Ms. Valerie Payson is the Executive Director of the Central Texas College Foundation, where she leads the college’s philanthropic strategies, donor engagement initiatives, and community partnerships in support of student success. A dedicated advocate for educational access and advancement, she works closely with alumni, community leaders, and industry partners to strengthen the Foundation’s impact and expand opportunities for students across Central Texas and beyond.

A proud alumna of Central Texas College, Valerie begun her educational journey on the very campus she now serves, earning her Associate of Arts degree in Journalism before completing her bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Tarleton State University.

With a deep passion for service and community empowerment, Valerie oversees major fundraising campaigns, scholarship programs, and strategic initiatives that directly support academic achievement, workforce development, and institutional innovation at Central Texas College. Her leadership focuses on building sustainable resources that help students overcome financial barriers, pursue their academic goals, and transform their futures.

Valerie is known for her collaborative approach, her commitment to advancing higher education, and her ability to build strong relationships with donors and stakeholders. Her work reflects her belief that education is one of the most powerful drivers of personal and community growth.

Valerie currently serves on the board of Texas Association of Community College Foundations, and is deeply rooted in philanthropy and civic engagement. Over the years, she has served in numerous leadership roles across Central Texas, including President and Board Member, United Way of the Greater Fort Hood Area, President, Junior Service League of Killeen, , Board of Directors, Killeen Chamber of Commerce, Board of Directors, Wreaths for Vets, President, Killeen Ladies’ Lions Club, Council President, Killeen Area PTAs. Her extensive record of service reflects a lifelong commitment to strengthening the Central Texas community through volunteerism, leadership, and advocacy.
